Law 11/2001, 5th July, by which the Spanish Food Safety Agency is created. (BOE number 161, 6th 2001 July). It is a public organism with character of an independent organism, in agreement with anticipated in articles 41, 43, 61 and 62 of Law 6/1997, of Organization and Operation of the General Administration of the State, with legal-public differentiated personality and total legal capacity, that will apply by the current law and other dispositions of application. This Organism is assigned to the Ministry of Health and Social Policy, to which corresponds its strategic direction and the evaluation and control of the results of its activity.
