Informative Conference with the Health College Organization16/11/2010

The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) celebrated last November 16th in the Ernest Lluch Hall placed in the Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equality, an Informative Conference with the Health College Organization (OMC) with the purpose to issue the criteria on which have to be based the nutrition and heath claims, within the framework of the Regulation (CE) Nº 1924/2006 implementation.
The conference was aimed, most of all, to health professionals in order to clarify them this regulation concerning the different concepts and requirements that it establishes, and to explain them the evaluation scientific criteria used by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) in order to analyze its statements.
Besides AESAN’s President Roberto Sabrido, who inaugurated the conference, also participated AESAN’s Executive Director, Ana Troncoso; the professor Andreu Palou; the Law Department Director of the Spanish Federation of Food and Beverage Industries (FIAB), Pilar Velazquez; and the College General Counsel Director, Juan José Rodríguez Sendín.
