Madrid’s Universidad Complutense has announced the 2010 edition of its Summer Courses. These courses will take place over a period of five weeks, and will include a total of 105 activities, including courses, meetings and workshops.

On announcing the courses, the Rector, Carlos Berzosa, and the Director, Alfonso Pérez, highlighted the importance of using public spaces to forge closer links between universities and society in general.

Comments such as “Universities should be open, plural, critical and committed, with a hybrid and multidisciplinary focus”, or “We must be able to create exceptional areas, open to the exchange of ideas”, show that above all, these activities are presented in a shared environment where the multidisciplinary transfer of knowledge is paramount.

The summer courses will open on 5 July with a lecture given by the writer Antonio Muñoz Molina.

This year, AESAN has organised the II Food Safety and Nutrition Course, which will take place during the week of 12 to 16 July.
