Salmonella
Salmonella is, at present, the main food-borne zoonotic agent in Spain and in the European Union. Consequently, it deserves a separate chapter and specific surveillance and control legislation: Regulation (EC) Nº 2160/2003, of the European Parliament and of the Council on the control of salmonella and other specified food-borne zoonotic agents.
