Guidance on implementing and interpreting EU rules on food hygiene

Within a work group consisting of experts from Member States, the European Commission is studying issues relating to the implementation and interpretation of the "Hygiene Package". The result of these debates is given in a sequence of directives published on the DG SANCO website.

Good practice guides concerning the protection of animals at the time of slaughter

Regulation (EC) No 1099/2009 of the Council of 24 September 2009 on the protection of animals at the time of killing, establishes in article 13, that member States shall encourage the development and dissemination of guides to good practice.
